With the exception of sprinting short distances to elevate heart rate, I find that walking is a better choice over running for a variety of reasons:

  • It tends to be less stressful on your lower body joints (ankles, knees, and hips)
  • Just about everyone can walk
  • It is easier to convince your friends to join you
  • You still get the benefit of increased calorie burn and oxygen intake
  • Basically, I dislike running đŸ™‚
