Daily walking has more health benefits than sporadic heavy exercising.
With the exception of sprinting short distances to elevate heart rate, I find that walking is a better choice over running for a variety of reasons:
- It tends to be less stressful on your lower body joints (ankles, knees, and hips)
- Just about everyone can walk
- It is easier to convince your friends to join you
- You still get the benefit of increased calorie burn and oxygen intake
- Basically, I dislike running 🙂
